BTS have grown a lot since their debut. They made debut on June, 2013. It has been 4 years since their debut. They really became the ‘Trend.’
They were doing well since their debut. The debut album ‘2 COOL 4 SKOOL’ recorded about 60,000 album sales and caught music fans’ hearts right away. BTS who asked “Hey, what’s your dream?” stole the girls’ hearts. They also stole the hearts of other female fans.
BTS’s growth graph was very steep during the last 2 years. The 2nd album ‘Skool Luv Affair’ recorded 100,000 album sales. BTS that wore school uniforms and shouted “I want to be your boyfriend” stole the hearts of the female fans. They showed off their charms with their sentimental soft songs such as ‘Just One Day,’ and ‘Where did you come from?’
On August 20th, 2014, BTS released the regular album ‘DARK & WILD’ in one year and 2 months after their debut. The 7 members became men without the school uniforms. ‘Danger’ with the synergy effect of hip hop based dance and charismatic performance made huge success.
After that, they caught the Japanese fans’ hearts by making debut in Japan. They attracted Japanese fans by releasing the Japanese regular album ‘WAKE UP’ last February. That’s how they became the next generation’s K-Pop idol in Korea and abroad.
They showed off their ‘potential’ with the EP album ‘THE MOOD FOR LOVE pt.1’ released last April. They swept the first ranks of various music charts and dominated Oricon album weekly chart with the title song ‘I NEED U.’ They received enthusiastic cheers from Asia, US, and South America. They recorded almost 200,000 album sales.
And they reached the peak as the ‘trend idol’ with ‘THE MOOD FOR LOVE pt.2’ last November. They swept music charts and 1st rank trophies of various music programs with the title song ‘RUN.’ Their fandom got even stronger and became competitive with other senior idol groups.
Billboard also paid attention to BTS’s growth. Recently, Billboard posted an article “BTS Notch Fourth Week Atop World Albums Chart With ‘THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MOMENT IN LIFE, PT.2” on the CHART BEAT corner which reports the 1st rank of every chart in K-Pop column corner, K-TOWN.
Billboard reported in the article, “BTS got the title of ranking the 1st place for the longest time as K-Pop group in world album chart. BTS ranked the 1st place four times and their trend seems to be continued.”
Unlike other teams that ranked 2 or 3 times on world album chart with each different album, BTS ranked the 1st place four times with only one album. Billboard highly praised BTS that they showed off power surpassing other groups in ranking.
BTS is showing the standard growth of idol group. It was possible since they showed off their charms and capabilities by releasing albums continuously and making certain team colors since their debut. They are continuously going up to the top.
